A month has passed! In case you haven’t noticed (or lack there of “you”) I kind of gave up on the idea. I had done the majority of the cheap/free items, and I was short on cashies, so I had to stop. Luckily, over the past month I completed a whopping 11 items. Which is kind of pathetic. But I mean, since I’m not trying, it’s good, right?! Anyways, I’m not going to write much because I have essentially no pictures… my camera broke… yay! But I’m shopping for a new fancy one, so it’s all good.

Roadtrip to somewhere: My dad and I went on a huge roadtrip to tour colleges (yippee!). We started the week off with a 12 hour stretch to University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. Beautiful campus and an adorable town, but then again, all the campuses we visited were the same. The next day we went on a tour and such, and then made our way to West Lafayette, IN to visit Purdue University. Repeat the day, then we made our way to the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign. On the way here we got caught in this HUGE storm that was almost a tornado. We were driving on this tiny country road with no lights or anything and we couldn’t even see in front of the car! It was scary, but we survived haha. Next day, tour, then driving to University of Wisconsin – Madison. The FINALLY we came home. The next day, I stayed over night in a hotel in Minneapolis with Christine and Katherine– super fun! Then Katherine and I dropped Christine off the next day and made our way to St. Cloud to stay in her Uncle’s apartment. It was a busy week :)

Go somewhere in old prom dresses: I had my senior pictures earlier this week! The lovely Ali Hohn did my photos, and it was magnificent! I did, in fact, wear my prom dress for some of pictures– which included trudging out into the middle of a field in Northfield, MN! Those pictures turned out fantastic (I’ve only seen one so far!). Check out Ali’s other stuff: ahphotos.com.

Play poker: I’ve oddly done a lot of this recently. It first started with Tucker, Grace, and I being bored and playing, but then I taught my brother how to play and my family has been playing a little too. I’d like to point out that I beat Tucker and Grace! BOOM.

Send snail mail to a far-away friend: I did this, and it was so fun! I sent a letter to my friend Victoria who lives in Northfield, MN. She just graduated, so she’s all getting ready to go to college, so it was nice to send her something! I wrote a letter and drew pictures… and you know! The usual. ;)

Chalk the entire driveway: Okay, so I cheated a little. Driveways are big! Kelsey, Jessica, Maddi, Gaby, Grace, and I chalked Tucker’s driveway when he was on his way back from New York City. We chalked most of what we could, even though there were cars and such in the way… either way, it was fun! Then we went to Ben’s house to swim… which was equally fun, haha.

Eat corn on the cob: This is pretty self-explanatory. I had dinner with Mara and Maddi once, and we had corn. It was good. Side note, MARA’S GONE! :( I’m so sad!! I had to miss her goodbye party for camp at Iowa State! Gahh. I MISS MARA.

Watch every episode of a TV show: I’ve actually finished 2 TV shows now. Tucker and I finished Better Off Ted, and I finished Greek. Both of which were excellent. ‘Nuff said?

Visit the Historical Society: Actually, I visited the Wisconsin Historical Society, not Minnesota! It was part of our UW-Madison tour. Beautiful building, and it was a very cool tour.

Go to the International Market: Midtown Global Market rockkksss! It’s so fun! Christine, Katherine and I went after staying overnight in Minneapolis. Basically what it is is a kind-of Farmer’s Market but like from all over the world. It’s super cool! There are always cute bags and scarves and jewlery (for really cheap!) and delicious food. We got ice cream and sorbet… yum!

Discover a new band: I mean, it wasn’t a completely new discovery. I had one song my Erin McCarley, but I got the rest of her album and I love it! So that better be good enough, haha.

Go to a museum: On Purdue’s campus (I think?!) they have a History Library that is also an American History Museum, which we visited briefly while we were on campus. Sweeeettnneessss.

That is all! I’ll try an embed some videos or pictures or something, to make this a little more interesting. Sorry for being lazy, yo. (WOW. It will only let me have one pictures haha. Sucks for you guys! Have fun READING, pah!)

Also being lazy, I clicked all of the Recommended Links and Related Articles… enjoy?

Love always, Amelia

PS: I apologize for the lack of story-telling and chronological order of this post… It’s just too much!

24. Go to the zoo & 51. Do yoga.

Standard

Hello!

Third day in a row– impressive! Haha, not quite. But still cool?

This morning I began my day with waking up to my dog barking constantly at nothing outside the window… at 7:15am. Joyful! So I got up and walked the dog (again) and headed off to go and work out. Once I got to the gym, I immediately turned around because I saw people I know. I HATE seeing people I know at the gym, so I turned around and went home. I decided that I could try and cross something off my list in the struggle of a morning. I found a Yoga clip on Netflix! It was about 40 minutes long, and it wasn’t too horrible. It was a mix between Yoga and Pilates, so I did a little more moving than regular Yoga… which is good. I might have gotten super bored instead. I don’t know, it was pretty decent, but that’s all I have to say about it, haha.

Anyways. After that, Maddi, Mara and I ventured off to Como Zoo! It was excellent!

Hardtimes.

Struggle.

So, we had some hard times getting there. From bad directions (Thanks Google Maps!) to crazy drivers to traffic to construction zones… it was quite the adventure. Once we arrived, we ventured to the conservatory!

Flowers!

Pretty in pink.

And yellow!

Pretty, pretty. Then we went to the actual zoo part of the park… and saw some excellent animalssss.

Orangutans!

There was a baby Orangutan! He was playing with a sheet… and it was adorable:)

Zebraaassss.

Stripey horses. Kind of odd to watch, because they’re so similar to horses.

Giraffes.

Maddi and I think the one in the middle was a young one, he was a lot smaller than the others. The big one was like 15 feet tall!

Flamingo.

Did you know that they get more pink with how much shrimp they eat? Yep!

So that was the adventure to the zoo. We went to McDonald’s for ice cream cones, and then we all went home. I went home for dinner, and then went to Tucker’s! His fam just got a new car, which they’re all excited about. We took it to Walgreen’s so I could feed the nailpolish addiction. (Also, I found $25 in change in my room…) So I ended up with a glitter, a top coat, a royal blue, and a mint green, which I am all very excited for! Later, we enjoyed some quality Better Off Ted.

Love always, Amelia

5. Pull a prank, 23. Have a bonfire, 40. Put warm-fuzzy notes in library books, & 74. Walk the dog.

Standard

Hello!

GASP. Two posts two days in a row! Wow! Haha, yeah. That means that I’m actually going to start writing again.

Anyways, today was quite the adventure! I feel like I did a lot today… which is good, because I did pretty much nothing all week. First thing I did was I woke up and walked my dog. No– I didn’t take pictures, because walking the dog looks like… walking the dog. Buddy has been pretty weird lately. We got all new furniture, which he is no longer allowed to be on. So now he’s always sad… so a walk made him happy. Yay!

Later today, I went over to Maddi’s house. Maddi and Mara had just returned from a trip to Duluth, which sounded lovely, and we decided it was time for an adventure! And an adventure it was. We started by running off to the library. We cut a gazillion neon note cards in half and covered them in sharpied phrases with warm fuzzies. We put them in library books for people to find someday. I hope we make someone’s day!

Feel goood.

Feel good for everyone!

After that, we ventured over to the Japanese Garden and took a few pictures!

Waterfalls.

Mara and Maddi are pretty.

Then, Grace and Vanessa joined us back at Maddi’s house and we participated in some INTENSE Harry Potter Sporcle quizzes. Check itttt. http://www.sporcle.com/games/GeoGod/allharrypotter

Tucker finally joined us and then we began our bonfire! We made delicious s’mores and enjoyed the fires… and didn’t enjoy the bugs, but that’s expected. During this bonfire, we were discussing how our (mainly Grace’s) lives were so boring, and we never did anything interesting… then Grace had an idea. We shall prank the city! Well, we really only pranked a neighborhood. And it’s not much of a prank– but it was crazy fun.

WHAT WE DID. We took a whole ton of chalk and piled into Grace’s car… essentially we just drew a bunch of lines all over the street. We hung out of all of her doors and trunk and we drew lines up and down the streets with Grace (or I for a short while)  drove at like 2 miles per hour. We call it EXTREME STREET CHALKING. So fun. TRY IT!

extremeee.

Extreme Street Chalking at its best.

Good day.

Love always, Amelia

PS: A tag for Gracie! :)

4. Spend a whole day at the lake, 52. Get a tan, 56. Try an exotic food, 63. Jump in a lake, 68. Go bowling, & 85. Have a water fight.

Standard

Wow, I have posted in a very long time. I apologize for that… but this post should (in theory) be really awesome.

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve completed a very large amount of things in these past few days., which I will attempt to address in chronological order.

First, Mara has arrived! I have spent a number of fantastical days enjoying her and Maddi’s company. The best thing we’ve done (in my opinion) is when we MADE Goldfish crackers! They were so good. That same evening, Mara taught us how to make fritos, which is a type of pinxto or tapa. It’s typically eaten a traditional Spanish appetizer. Essentially it’s dough and chicken mixed together, rolled into balls, covered in bread crumbs, and then fried. It was very good!

Yum!

Goldfish and Fritos!

So that was my exotic food of the summer.

That, of course, what quite some time ago.

On the Second of July, it was the lovely Miss Trisha and Miss Vanessa’s birthday! They are my twinner friends, and I believe this is the first I have written about them. They are hysterical, and quite possibly the most photogenic (and prettiest!) people I know. Anyways, we went out to eat at Macaroni Grill, and then went bowling! Exceptionally fun… and I won!

Dinner

Dinner with the ladies.

Bowling Birthday

Game 1: 118, Game 2: 121. BOOM.

(Bottom Picture: Vanessa, Sophie, Myself, Trisha, Rochelle, Vanessa, Nicole… so just you know who the heck these people are.)

On the Fourth of July, Tucker and I journeyed to his cabin! About an hour and a half away from his house, we drove up there very early in the morning. He “surprised” me by having me meet all of his cousins and his aunt and uncle… He told me right when we were pulling up… Thanks Tuck-tuck. Not that it wasn’t lovely, I just would have appreciated some warning! Haha, still excellent. We spent the whole day on the lake, enjoying a boat ride, water fights, and the neighbors water-trampoline. (Shhh!)

Cabin.

Lake Time!

I swear we’re both wearing clothes. I promise.

There were a gazillion BEAUTIFUL and HUGE houses on the lake (not that Tucker’s wasn’t adorable… it was!), but I was very impressed. Anyways, this checks off the spend a whole day at the lake, jump in a lake (many times!), and have a water fight (which I conceded, unfortunately). This ALSO includes getting a tan! Yay:) My sunburn from Kansas finally went away, and I just continued the tan. Poor Tucker got super sunburned:( It shall go away soon!

Yeah, I’ve had this written for a few days, I’ve just been to lazy to get my photos off of my camera (my SD card slot thing is screwed up so everything is much more difficult) and I know I’m being a bad blogger, so I promise I will get better!

Please forgive me, blog gods.

Love always, Amelia

PS. So… I have a new obsession. Nailpolish, and lots of it. I’ve been painting and repainting my nails like 4 times a day and it’s kind of great. So if you’d like to join in the fun, check out this blog I’ve been enjoying: thedailyvarnish.com! :) So I’m thinking after this blog ends, I might start one similar. That is, if I continue enjoying the nailpolish. Of course, actual readers might be a problem too. Would anyone actual read it? Probably not. Would more people read that than this blog? Probably. It may or may not be worth it. I dunno!

87. Visit a water park.

Standard

Hello!

Yeah, summer is starting to get busy. Less time for things to do and less time to post. BUT, this past weekend I joined my family in an 8-hour drive to Kansas to visit my cousin and her daughter! Maria’s daughter, Aubrie, is the happiest, most adorable 2-year-old I’ve ever seen– by far. Anyways, we left after my parents got home after work and hit the road at 4ish, meaning we got to my cousins house at about 1am. Fun, right?! Haha, it wasn’t that bad! My aunt and uncle had flown in the night before, which made it very fun! My aunt and uncle (and cousin) are originally from Alaska, but my cousin moved to Kansas because her husband is in the military. Tom is overseas right now. (God bless him!) Making my point that it’s extra special when we see everyone together.

On Saturday, we all headed out for about an hour drive to a really great waterpark in… somewhere in Kansas. I don’t know what city haha. Anyways, it had a lazy river, waterslides, wavepool, etc. etc. Very nice stuff. We spent all day there, which was fantastic with Aubrie.

A video is supposed to be right here that is adorable, but wordpress is failing me:(

Awhh, she’s so cute:)!

I, unfortunately, ended up with a very nasty sunburn. I applied sunscreen (twice!) and it worked decently on everyone else EXCEPT me! Not fair. So I spent the past two days laying down covered in aloe vera, feeling like a slimy hot mess. It was badddd! And it hurt like no other. But it’s much better now– and, what’s that? Is it turning into tan? Maybe! I can’t tell yet because it’s still very red, but at least it doesn’t hurt!

Yesterday, I spent most of my day training at my new job (exciting!) I start next week! That does mean I’ll have to plan more carefully about my events, but I still intend to finish all of these things this summer!

Last, but not least, Mara arrived today! Mara is Maddi’s exchange student from Spain. I’m very excited to meet her! We have a bunch of fun things planned for the month that she is here (some of which are from my list– yeah!) and it shall be a jam-packed month of excitement. WELCOME TO THE US MARA!

Love always, Amelia
